Peal, chop and shred eight carrots. Mince 1 onion, 1 green pepper and 8 cloves of garlic.

Add a 1/3 of a cup of olive oil to a pan and heat. Add the onion, garlic, green pepper and carrots. Mix this and let cook for a short while then add 1/2 cup of red wine and some black pepper to taste. Add 2 lbs. of ground beef and mix together.

Add one jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce and approximately six bay leaves and let cook for a while. Add one tablespoon of sugar and stir.

Boil one box of lasagna noodles.

Whip 45 ounces of ricotta cheese and add to that, 6 tablespoons of sugar (optional).

Place one cup of the hamburger mix at the bottom of a Pyrex lasagna dish and cover the bottom. Add about four noodles to cover the hamburger mix. Add more hamburger mix to cover the noodles and then add ricotta cheese to cover the hamburger mix. Add mozzarella cheese to cover the ricotta cheese and then sprinkle on some parmesan cheese.

Repeat the process again starting with the noodles and then bake at 400 degrees.
